We just received an email from Jesse, one of the co-owners of Deacon Giles, which read in part...

Over the past 10 days we have been contacted by a representative of the local burlesque and queer community demanding that we cancel your show... They included a signed petition with ~150 names. While we considered the best way to approach and handle the message they also posted about it in a large, private, local community group (of which both Ian [the other co-owner] and I are members).

I'm concerned about the impact this accusation may have on our normal, week to week business, given that many of the folks are regular patrons of Deacon Giles. For this reason we will need to cancel this Saturday's show.

I apologize. This decision was not easy, having worked with you and your troupe for over 8 years.

We and the co-owners at Deacon Giles have been bullied into canceling this show. We have issued  refunds for all tickets.
